New Genesys Works Name and Logo Provide “Genesis” for BrandExtract’s Latest Branding Effort

HOUSTON, September 15, 2006 — BrandExtract LLC, a brand design, development and integration firm, announced today the launch of its brand overhaul for Genesys Works, which included a change of name and new logo.
Formerly known as Genesys ITS, the non-profit organization started out four years ago training economically disadvantaged high school students in information technology and putting them to work at client companies. Genesys’ business model was so successful, it quickly expanded its career training into new fields and outgrew its name.
"BrandExtract challenged us throughout a collaborative process to uncover what’s unique about us and our brand, and then transformed those insights into meaningful, practical applications," said Rafael Alvarez, President, Genesys Works.
BrandExtract led the renaming process, which included input from Genesys Works’ staff, board members, corporate clients and supporters, and redesigned the logo to represent Genesys Works students’ path of professional growth.
“We specialize in advising organizations on their Brand strategy and implementation, with an emphasis on identifying brand gaps and opportunities,” said BrandExtract President and Genesys Works Advisory Board member Jonathan Fisher. “Our goal in this branding initiative is to build on the strengths of Genesys Works by crystallizing its reputation and image for the benefit of the students who are gaining the knowledge, industry certifications and work experience required to succeed as professionals.”
The new Genesys Works name and logo will be used in all of the marketing materials and communications. BrandExtract waived all fees for the engagement.
