Overview

One of the world’s largest independent oil and natural gas exploration and production companies, Anadarko, needed a modernized website, as well as two smaller sites, to better reflect the current position of the company. The initiative required global integration across several divisions of the company. Over the decade, Anadarko has turned to us for strategic challenges ranging from HR recruiting initiatives to communications tools.

Challenge

The demand of Anadarko’s global audience was changing – from investors to client and even its talent pool. To stay relevant, it needed a better content management solution as well as a modernized and more robust user experience across all three of its enterprise-level websites – Anadarko.com, WesternGas.com and MZLNG.com.

Strategy

Develop seamless experience

We built a robust, responsive and enterprise-ready website with incredibly intuitive navigation to enhance the user experience across any device. The new website the Anadarko story in a more compelling way by reorganizing, updating and in some cases expanding the current content offering throughout the site in an effort to deliver a better experience and drive engagement for all audiences.

Enable new capabilities

The company’s IT department announced that it would no longer support Microsoft Sharepoint, upon which the company’s previous website was built and maintained. Through our content management system, SAM, we equipped Anadarko’s internal team with the ability to make updates and adjustments as needed, and without help from IT. The SAM platform, which is capable of publishing in any language worldwide with no design restrictions allowed for Anadarko’s unrestricted communication goals.

Improve online visibility

We implemented and improved search engine optimization (SEO) elements across the enterprise-level site to ensure it would rank highly and be found by the right audience and search engines. Through an enhanced keyword strategy, content strategy and improving the overall user experience to ensure all content is easy to access and as shareable as possible, we were able to help drive more traffic to the site.

Impact

We increased Anadarko’s reach through responsible, responsive design and improved search engine optimization. Immediately post-launch, the site received an overall traffic increase of 10%. We also saw a 10% increase in form submissions, indicating higher interest and engagement from all target audiences.

The easy-to-use SAM interface allows the Anadarko internal team to make updates and adjustments to its new website, without requiring assistance from IT. With additional ongoing support from our team, we helped unburden the IT department and empower the marketing team to take control of its primary communication platform.
