Jonathan Coen Portrait

UX Advocate, Taekwondo Dad, Jack-of-All-Trades

A digital swiss army knife, Jonathan brings twenty years of experience with both agency and in-house teams. Through research, design, interactivity, content strategy, SEO, user testing, front-end development, and site administration – Jonathan has done it all at least once. This makes him perfect as a UX Director designing digital brand experiences. Inquisitive and patient, Jonathan is always ready to listen when someone has a problem.

UX begins and ends with empathy. It's amazing what you can accomplish when you stop and listen.

Originally from Katy, TX, Jonathan attended the University of Texas where he received his BA and BFA for art and graphic design. From there, he spent time building interactive training courses and games, followed by UI design and front-end development before finally switching over to UX full-time. Guiding user experiences quickly became his passion and he earned his master's in the field from Kent State University.

A lover of both design and data, Jonathan hopes to bridge the gap between the two in order to create better holistic brand experiences.

"I look at it like a puzzle where you have to carve out the pieces while you put them together," Jonathan said. "It's a great challenge, and I'm always looking for overlap between positive user experiences and brand experiences while still achieving our business goals."

When he’s not building UX strategies, Jonathan enjoys rescuing dogs, camping, talking about art and spending time with his family. He also practices Taekwondo with his kids and loves to find great hole-in-the-wall taco places with his wife. The more holey-in-the-wall, the better.
