On Friday, November 13, the BrandExtract team ventured away from the office and headed outdoors to volunteer at the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center. Under the guidance of conservation specialists, the BE team cleared 10,000 square feet of invasive shrubs and brush from the urban nature sanctuary. The work will allow new native tree growth to take root.
This quarterly service day reflects the firm’s commitment to supporting meaningful causes and organizations in the Houston community and also fosters an ongoing culture of volunteerism at BrandExtract.
Immediately following the service event, BrandExtract hosted its ever-popular annual Chili Cook-off celebration. Eight contestants entered this year’s competition, but only three recipes emerged victorious. Associate Creative Director, Greg Giles, won Best Overall for the fourth consecutive year, while Senior Designer Abbey Swanson earned the award for spiciest. Project Manager Hailey Benningfield took home Most Creative for her “Jalapeno Popper” chili.
BrandExtract team members also nominated their peers for the Big Head Award, which recognizes the outstanding employee of the quarter. The award acknowledges exceptional initiative, innovation, superior results, client service excellence and/or exemplary teamwork. BrandExtract thanks and congratulates Digital Content Specialist, Chris Wilks, who earned the award this quarter.
