On January 29, 2011, a sold-out crowd of 1,200 guests gathered at Enterprise Jet Center
near Hobby Airport to attend the Cristo Rey Jesuit Defying Gravity Gala. Ticket sales for the inaugural event, as well as both silent and live auctions, raised nearly $1.8 million to assist Cristo Rey Jesuit College Preparatory School of Houston in accomplishing its future goals.
The school combines personal responsibility, academic rigor and a corporate work-study
program to empower students of all faiths from economically challenged families to reach
their full potential.
BrandExtract has been assisting Cristo Rey Jesuit with branding and marketing on a pro bono basis since before the school opened. For the gala, the BrandExtract team provided design, writing and printing support, creating the invitations for the event and offering marketing guidance.

Associate Creative Director Will Cunningham, who has been the school's dedicated designer from the beginning. "This has been a labor or love for us and we were honored to be a part, not only of a very successful event, but of such an extraordinary organization."
