BrandExtract Helps CancerForward Complete Second Phase of Development

August 31, 2010

HOUSTON, August 31, 2010 — Integrated marketing firm BrandExtract recently completed the second phase of website development for CancerForward: The Foundation for Cancer Survivors. CancerForward is a Houston-based 501(c) 3 non-profit entity that serves as an online networking and educational resource for cancer survivors, as well as a source of non-profit funding for local cancer survivorship programs within health care institutions and community-based organizations throughout the U.S.

CancerForward's website initially launched in June, but this second phase of the site adds comprehensive news about advancements in cancer rehabilitation, survivorship-related events and webinars, personal stories from cancer survivors, editorial features by high profile survivors and health and wellness experts, and a variety of options to donate to the Foundation.

"CancerForward is a very personal thing since cancer has affected me, my family and the families of many of our current and former staff members," said Bo Bothe, president and CEO, BrandExtract, who is also volunteer co-founder and advisory director of the Foundation. "Contributing our time, resources and money to this worthwhile cause is our heartfelt way to honor our loved ones and make an impact on others in our community."

Bothe, whose mother Rosemary is a two-time cancer survivor, explained that CancerForward helps survivors move forward in their walk with cancer confidently knowing that they have a community supporting them and an organization dedicated to addressing their needs.

"This organization is more than a project for me-it's a passion," said Beth Sanders Moore, founder of CancerForward and nationally recognized cancer-related fundraiser and advocate for the development of cancer rehabilitation. "BrandExtract has been invaluable in helping us understand our brand and execute the elements that will communicate to our survivor audience. With their help, we've been able to hit the ground running in helping people live fuller lives after cancer."

By December 2010, BrandExtract and CancerForward will unveil the third and final phase of the site, which will give users the ability to create their own communities and support groups, access local resources and view a collection of survivor data based upon findings from polls and surveys.

In addition to the Foundation's website, BrandExtract also developed the CancerForward name, identity and branding, including logo, tagline and brochure. Plus, the firm created and launched the organization's blog, YouTube station, and Facebook and Twitter pages.
