HOUSTON, September 21, 2009 – BrandExtract, LLC, an integrated branding and communications firm, received five Standard of Excellence WebAwards from the Web Marketing Association’s 13th annual competition for website development, making it the only Houston firm on an elite list of 44 firms that received five or more awards.
More than 2,000 sites from 45 countries representing 96 industries were judged on design, copy writing, innovation, content, interactivity, navigation and use of technology. BrandExtract’s WebAwards were for sites it developed for Chemstations, Graham-Pelton, Hughes Watters Askanase, Rignet and Tellepsen.

The WebAward competition format allows websites to compete head to head with other sites within their industry to win the Best of Industry award. Entries also compete against a standard of excellence to win Outstanding Website and Standard of Excellence WebAwards. BrandExtract joins Razorfish, Walt Disney, Organic, Sapient, Thomson-FindLaw and JWT Inside as firms that received five or more awards this year.
Last year, BrandExtract received three Webawards — one Outstanding award for Varel International and Standard of Excellence awards for Dessert Gallery and Uson — for its work.
